Last Friday the president of the Heritage Society of Austin sent a letter to PARD Director Sara Hensley officially endorsing the Norwood Park Foundation proposal to restore the house and surrounding grounds. This was in response to lobbying by NPF members over the past several years. HSA support will enhance our fundraising ability once we get to that stage.
As of today we are still waiting for a revised Parkland Improvement Agreement (PIA) to be sent to us so we can continue negotiations. PARD has scheduled presentations of the PIA to the Landmark Commission, Parks Board and Council over the next seven weeks. If all goes according to projections (when has it?) we’ll have authorization to get to work sometime in late December…..a fitting Christmas present! After that we’ll need to get necessary permits/approvals to get to hands on work….hopefully early in 2013.
