Special Election at January 18th Meeting

SRCC will hold an online General Membership meeting on Tuesday, January 18 at 7pm using Zoom videoconferencing.

Sadly Cynthia Milne resigned as president of SRCC as of December 31st. Cynthia has been an amazing and thoughtful leader as our organization adapted to holding regular meetings over Zoom. We are grateful for her organizational skills and humor during a time when many of us were dealing with so much in our lives. We are grateful for her fine leadership skills in keeping our meetings starting on time and ending on time. Cynthia and Megan have been so valuable in helping the organization maneuver the changes we have faced since April of 2020!

We are pleased to announce that Wendy Todd, long-time member with knowledge and experience of major issues impacting SRCC, has volunteered to serve as interim president until our regular elections in April. The nominating committee met to discuss this and our upcoming election in April. The committee voted unanimously to present Wendy Todd as a candidate for president for the interim at our next General Membership meeting.

At the meeting on January 18 the Nominating Committee will make their recommendation, and then will ask for nominations from the floor before proceeding with the vote. If you are interested in running for President in this special election or if you are interested in running for SRCC office in the upcoming regular election in April, please contact Dan Fredine, Nominating Committee chair at secretary@srccatx.org.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting.
NOTE: In order to vote during the meeting, you must be an SRCC member in good standing a month in advance of the meeting. Exception: If a former member’s dues have lapsed no more than 2 years, they may renew during that month and be eligible to vote. For the time being, we will not be able to support renewal during remote meetings. Please contact SRCC Membership Secretary Mary Friedman at membership@srccatx.org to join or renew, or with any questions.
