There are families living in the SRCC area who are struggling to buy food and basic necessities. Travis Heights Elementary School is working to support families with students attending the school who are having financial difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PTA is organizing a virtual fundraiser on Friday, May 15. It is an annual tradition for the school to celebrate the end of the year by having a party in the Oak Garden at Guero’s, who have been a great supporter of the school for many years. We can’t have the T-Bird Fiesta in person, but we are encouraging folks to order dinner to-go from Guero’s to support them and thank them (and we’ll be hosting a virtual dance party online for the students!). We are also asking that those of us in our community who can, please make a donation to help the families in need in our neighborhood and school community. You can make a donation to the school via the website:

All donations received on May 15 will be used by the school’s Parent Support Specialist to support school families in need.
We also encourage donations to the Central Texas Food Bank, which is doing great work to support all of Central Texas.
