At least two large hotel complexes are planned in the SRCC neighboring area. One will be just east of S. Congress on the former Terrace Motor Courts property. The other will be just west of S. Congress at the Long Bow/Congress intersection.
All of Liz Lambert’s chic hotels on South Congress Avenue are named after saints. San Jose. Saint Cecilia. Lambert’s upcoming creation — Hotel Magdalena — is named after Mary Magdalene, and is looking to be the grandest of them all.

 This new five-story boutique hotel and
residences will sit just off South Congress, clocking in at 95 hotel rooms and seven condos. The 70,000-square-foot hotel will also include 2,000 square feet on the ground floor devoted to restaurant, bar, and event space.

The largest building described on the site development permit is 40,765 square feet. Scott Wuest of Wuest Group told the city the waivers are needed to allow “as intensive recreational use–swimming pool and three cabanas–to be constructed 50 feet or less from adjoining property”
