Request received from Malcolm Yeats of EROC- To speak with SRCC at our general membership meeting on Sept. 17, 2024 regarding parkland acquired by the city but not available to the public. No objections
Committee Chair Reports
Planning and Zoning: 200 Kenwood
Historic Preservation: no report
Finance: No expenses in August. General Balance is $19950
Mobility: Parking sign work is delayed. Goal is Sept 30th. Enforcement begins Oct 1. Problematic Traffic Impact Analysis for 2105 S Congress being reviewed at Zo’s office.
Public Safety: reports of “door checkers” during daytime. Box theft continues
Membership: no new members, 2 renewals this month
Parks and Environment: no report
Schools: later item regarding Torchy’s alcohol permit
Communication: Mayor’s candidate forum scheduled for Sept 11th.
Agenda Item 1:
Torchy’s has applied, again, for an alcohol permit for the location across from Lively MS.
Members, Carol and Gretchen to write letter from SRCC emphasizing that our opposition to alcohol sales near schools is unchanged. Letter to be sent to City Council in advance of their scheduled Sept 12th vote.
Agenda Item 2:
Mayors candidate forum is Sept 11 2024 at Wildflower Church on Oltorf. Four of five candidates are confirmed. The forum will be open to the public and viewable by Zoom
