SRCC will hold an online general membership meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at 7pm using Zoom videoconferencing. The agenda for this meeting will include elections for the new SRCC officers.Â
SRCC’s annual elections potluck meeting was scheduled for April, but due to the pandemic the elections were postponed. With the pandemic lingering on it is time to hold elections. At this time we are happy to announce that we have an excellent slate of strong candidates for the election! Several are current officers in SRCC and others have previously filled leadership roles in the organization. Note that a candidate for president was not identified and we are deliberately presenting this slate without a president; we are confident that the organization will continue to be effective with the current slate of candidates. The slate of candidates is:

- Co-Vice President: Cynthia Milne
- Treasurer: Oliver Caruso
- Secretary: Dan Fredine
- Membership Secretary: Mary Friedman

The logistics of an online meeting are different from in-person meetings. We have been using the “polling†functionality built into Zoom as our manner of voting. This means we have asked that motions be made in advance in order to have the Zoom polls set up ahead of time. In the same manner we are modifying our normal Robert’s Rules of Order-based election process. Normally the chair asks for nominations from the floor prior to voting on the slate presented by the Nominations Committee. The modification is that we will be accepting floor nominations for additional candidates electronically between August 25th and August 29th – further details for this process will be forthcoming.Â
NOTE: In order to vote during the meeting, you must be an SRCC member in good standing a month in advance of the meeting. Exception: If a former member’s dues have lapsed no more than 2 years, they may renew during that month and be eligible to vote. For the time being, we will not be able to support renewal during remote meetings.
