Good Shepherd on the Hill invites us to serve our neighbors in need. The church has placed a box outside their doors at 1700 Woodland Ave to collect shelf stable food for folks at Community First! Village. This is a tiny-home community of formerly homeless individuals in east Travis County. They are in need of high protein foods such as canned meats (tuna, chili, etc.), canned vegetables, mac and cheese, beans, and rice. These can be dropped off at any time, and will be delivered to the Village.
They are also distributing fresh produce to neighbors in local apartment complexes and invite anyone who has surplus produce to add to the harvest. Contact sam@gsaustin.org and he’ll arrange for a drop-off or pick up of your donation. They usually deliver food on Tuesdays. At this time they’re only asking for food grown in the neighborhood.
