Once again this year, Christ Lutheran Church will be hosting a pumpkin patch with fun activities across the street from their church on Monroe. The pumpkins are grown at the Navajo Indian Reservation of New Mexico and are an income source for the Navajo.
The Soco Pumpkin Patch will be open every day beginning on October 13th and running through October 31st (or until they sell out of pumpkins). Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the beautiful patch, to take pictures, to play on the playground, to purchase a wonderful pumpkin (or two), and to help support both those who grow these pumpkins as well as those organizations that will be the recipients this year of the church’s profits.
All church proceeds from this year’s pumpkin patch will be split between two non-profit organizations:
- Water to Thrive, an organization which builds wells and helps to bring clean water to those living in rural parts of Africa. https://www.watertothrive.org/
- CWEFT (Concordia Welfare and Education Foundation of Thailand), an organization which has been serving the children, women, and families in the Bangna Slum region of Bangkok, Thailand for the past 30 years. http://cwefthailand.org/
