Lakeshore Boulevard Improvements

The Austin Transportation Department (ATD) and the Public Works Department are partnering to implement and improve a bicycle route system along Lakeshore Boulevard from Riverside Drive to Pleasant Valley Road which is an identified bicycle route in the Austin Bicycle Plan. Lakeshore Boulevard is undergoing routine street resurfacing, so ATD has the opportunity to modify the street striping with little to no effect on project cost and duration. The department is assessing restriping options that could improve safety and mobility for all road users. In order to add bicycle lanes on Lakeshore Boulevard, on-street motor vehicle parking will be prohibited at certain locations.
